PYP Learning@Home Pack C: Home

How to use this Page

If you are learning at home, here are a variety of things you can do. If you are in Grades 3, 4 or 5 you can access SORA from home and read a book or magazine. There is a helpful video below that shows you how to do this. Our younger readers can access our Tumblebook Library, and again there is a video below to show you how to do this.

There are a number of other activities on this page and they are all optional. You can choose anything that interests you.

Two important things to remember.

  • If you need any help, email Mr Ian (imarsh@icsz.ch)
  • Be kind to your parents. Home learning can be tricky for them too.

Getting Started with SORA E-Books and Audio Books

Step 1: Install the Sora app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or go to soraapp.com.

Step 2: In Sora, find Swiss Group of International Schools, then sign in with the ICSZ Google account

                                Sora Login

Step 3: Browse the Explore tab and borrow a book. Your book will open so you can start reading right away.

Step 4: Close the book and go to Shelf to see all your books (including assignments). From there, you can:

Select Open Book or Open Audiobook to read or listen to the book.

Select Options to renew or return the book, see your notes and highlights, and more.

Feel like drawing something?

Feel like a challenge?

Feel like listening to a story?

Before you start, look at the cover, title, and pictures to help you make a prediction of what the book might be about.

Here are some things to think about while you are listening,

  • What part or character did you like the best or the least?
  • What do you think will happen next?
  • How does this story connect to your own life or anything that you’ve read before?
  • Do you know anything already about this topic?
  • Can you get a movie in your head while you listen to this story?
  • If you were writing the next part of this story, what would it be about?

Feel like keeping a journal?

Feel like making something?
