This year we surveyed students from Grade 2 through to Grade 5, to find out what they think about the Primary Library. The Grade 5 students then looked at the data and came up with action ideas to improve the library space, and what it offers. Here are some of their ideas:
Making the library available for as many breaks as possible (and before school because it is sometimes cold outside)
More book recommendations.
Bigger diversity of books (more books from series).
More places to relax like getting bean bags and a couch.
Influencing people to use Sora during library time and doing jigsaws to refresh their minds.
Get more adventure books because people enjoy these the most.
We could make a research section in the library.
Maybe a little bit of calm music (Spotify playlist?)
We could make book clubs to get people to know each other and connect through books.
Make a survey to see what people might want to add to the library website. Involve students in developing the library website.
We could present the books in a more welcoming way.
Giving more free time in the library.
